Man 2012 what a crazy year! I ended the year thinking we could have done a lot more racefriv stuff but once I went back and looked at what we covered we really did do a lot. Our first Formula D events, trips to the Nurburgring, trips to San Deigo, LS1/240 builds, and photo shoots in between. It was a pretty busy year and 2013 looks to be even crazier. So before we get to 2013 shenanigans lets take a look back at 2012!

How to Photograph Drifting
Phil here. I've noticed a trend of spectators coming to drift events with nice DSLRs hoping to take pictures. I've also seen several less than optimum submissions on various social networking sites so I thought that maybe a tutorial would be useful. Let me add that I am far from the worlds best drift photographer - lets just get on with it shall we?

Phil B's 2011 Photo Review
Hello and Merry Frivmas to you all.
Ish asked me to put a year end review together to talk about my favorite photo's of the year. I think he gave me very loose instructions, he mumbled something about "favorite pics, gear or whatever." I decided to make a post not just of photos but a little about how they were taken. Some of this may be too "camera geek" for you, if so - shut up and look at the pictures. If you like it then you'll probably like my blog, facebook page, or maybe even my youtube channel. (Go like my facebook page - please - pwetty pwease)

I used the background from a Toyota ad - so credit to them for the background.

Advocare 500 coverage
You might be forgiven for thinking that racefriv only caters to an audience of drift enthusiasts but that's really just a small piece of the very delicious pie we are baking here. Friend of racefriv Julion Bush recently had the pleasure (I am so totes jelly too) of shooting the recent NASCAR race with the official Atlanta Motor Speedway photographer. He didn't squander this opportunity either which you will see below. Julion owns these photo's, so please don't copy them or use them. If you would like to contact Julion for licensing requests drop us a line at racefriv@gmail.com or contact him directly at julionbush@yahoo.com. Also take a look at his flickr set to see some others.
