Dixie Nationals: Autocross

I'm pretty good at autocrossing.  I win my class several times a year at local events, and I'm never far behind when I'm not first.  That is at the local level, though.  I recently went to a national level event to find out how fast I really am.

There are 10 events on the SCCA Autocross National Championship Tour.  Nine regional events and the National Championship itself.  The season starts with the Dixie National Tour right here in Georgia.  I took my Z06 down to see how I stack up against the big boys.

A rare Z06 Carbon edition comes to town.

I recently had the pleasure of photographing a friends Supersonic blue Z06 carbon edition Corvette.  Before I was contacted about the shoot I didn't even know such a thing existed, so I wanted to share the photos and delve into the details.

Hes got a cool setup with his go pro now with gauges and such so Id thought Id post it up.  So hit play if you want to see what its like hitting the hills at Road Atlanta in a 500hp car.

Visiting the Birthplace of Corvette - Bowling Green, KY

Hello folks, Asian Phil here.  I've been pretty worthless and I haven't made any contribution to Racefriv since 2011 Christmas...but whatever; For a month now, I have an opportunity to work in Nashville, TN. Downtown "Cashville/Nash-Vegas" was alright, but live music, young people, and cheap drinks eventually got old.  Who wants to listen to "Rock me mama", "Sweet Home Alabama", "Chicken Fried", and "Fishin' in the Dark" every night anyways?

Little as I know, Bowling Green, Kentucky is only an hour away from Nashville.  All American gear head knows Chevrolet Corvette are assembled in Bowling Green.  So I took I-65N and paid them a visit.  Originally I was going to take the assembly plant tour, but they were closed to prepare for the (upcoming at that time) preparation of 7th generation Corvette.  I visited the National Corvette Museum on January 12th instead; ONE day before the official release of C7 Corvette.

Bowling Greens Finest

This is a way overdue post about our dear friend Christians C6 Z06.  He says he didn't set out to buy a Z06 but this one fell into his lap at a price he couldn't refuse.  We've all had a ride in it and we can all attest to its total insanity.  For me it was the lateral G meter on the HUD, for others its the 505hp. Whatever kind of car you usually go for you cant deny the corvette Z06 offers some amazing bang for the buck. Christian was brave enough to let me go to town on it with my camera gear, suction cups and all - what a nice guy.
