Racefriv Goes South Pt. 1: The Cars of Ecuador

Hey guys, Parker here.  Recently I had a chance to go on vacation to Ecuador, and having never been to South America before I jumped at the chance.  While I was there I took the chance to check out the driving machines that you might see every day in Ecuador.

Not everybody rides Llamas.  You can't see the Lambo this LLama is
checking out just to the right in this picture.

Luke I Am Your Father...NOOOOO

Our good racefriv friend Justin Dennis popped by my house the other day to show off his new FRS (which he has mostly converted to a GT86 now) and I couldnt resist getting a few pictures of our matching 86's before it got to dark. Later on were doing a full review of the cars to stay tuned for that but for now you'll just have to settle with some wall papers I tossed together. So click on the pictures to enlarge them and get yourself a new desktop!!

The 86 Life! Happy 86 day!

The 86 brotherhood is an odd thing, its something that's hard to explain. The bond between 86 owners are instant and timeless, its strange to have a connection with so many people with out ever knowing them. To an outsider it may seem weird, even foolish, but once you drive one you get the idea. The car personifies fun, it embraces driving like a high schooler, and (almost) never lets you down. So today we celebrate this car, today is 86 day!!! I've gathered a ton of photos from the racefriv site over the past year or so of AE86's we have come across and placed them here for your enjoyment. So what are you waiting for?  Click read more and go enjoy them!

Thoughts on The New Toyota 86.

So I've dedicated a lot of my recent time reading, looking, talking about and thinking about the new Toyota/Scion/Subaru, 86/FR-S/BRZ. So I figured Id do a little thought dump here on the blog. See I dont really ever think about buying new cars because there aren't any I'd like to buy besides maybe the BMW 1M. There's no way I could justify spending that much money on a car. This new 86 however has peaked my interest ever since Ive heard there was a joint effort between Subaru and Toyota. Of course when everyone heard about this at first we all thought it was vaporware.. too good to be true. Coming from the owner of a WRX and AE86 I am glad to say It wasn't and they reveled it a few days ago. So here's some thoughts, info, and images Ive gathered from various car blogs around the net. Hit read more for some really interesting insight on what this new car is all about.

The SouthrnFresh at Garage Zero Meet

So Southrnfresh recently came out and celebrated its 2nd anniversary at GarageZero  with a car meet, which included some of the nicest cars in Atlanta and the coolest people I've ever met at an "import" meet. I've never really been a huge fan of car shows, I'm a function over form kinda guy, but a meet like this is a must-go-to event. The cars that show up are usually someones daily driver or weekend fun cars, not too many built "just for show" cars come out which is what makes it a really awesome event. Real cars. Real people. Real fun.

(I've never seen this many AE86's in my life! It was epic!)
